Piece Number 6 is rather striking. Of course our artist would have you believe every piece is striking. But the mixture of the copper and brown woven cord tied to the worn steel chain with bare copper wire is absolutely stunning. Equally as mesmerizing is the ring gear that is re-purposed for the base. Its sweeping curves revealing an wistful elegance. Who would’ve guessed that something so beautiful would be forever hidden in a 25 ton piece of machinery if it weren’t for our artist keen eye.
As with every piece thus far, included in the purchase of the lamp is a hand made wooden crate for storage or display. This crate is hand stained, numbered, outfitted with upholstery, and hand sewn leather handles. The crate could easily be considered a work of art itself. One detail that is unique to this crate, it is the only crate in the series that has been hand stained two different colors. A painstaking process that will likely never be repeated on a non-commissioned piece.
